He answered: ‘Love your God with all your heart and all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind; and, Love your neighbor as yourself.”’ [Luke 10:27]
Relationships are so important in life. No matter what we do, our days involve some sort of interaction with other people. We can go a whole day communicating pleasantly with others, but in one little moment a disagreement can occur. Life is easy when everyone is nice and polite, but what happens when they are not?
So tell us - How do you love someone who acts hatefully toward you?

When someone is upsetting me, I pray for them. I am hoping it makes me see things God’s way, and maybe understand that person better too. If nothing else, it calms me down enough not to overreact to the situation.
ReplyDeleteI find myself praying for that person too, as well as praying that God give me patience and understanding! Sometimes I'm able to still smile at them and not let things get to me, and that dissipates the disagreement and tension a little. Cool story about Rich Mullins-- he was in an argument with a good friend, and both had been hateful to each other...the next morning, she wakes up to find him mowing her lawn, as an act of love!! awesome...
